Build a House on Rock

“A wise man who built his house on rock”

Matthew 7: 21, 24-27

 The majority of us realize that a Christian life is not a passive one, and the words Jesus spoke in the Sermon on the Mount give a clear indication of what one should be prioritizing: Talking about His will or doing His will.

Jesus taught us someone who does the will of God is like build a house on rock. It will not collapse even wind and floods wipe, because this kind of house is solid on rock. The opposite is build a house on sands. When floods and winds come, it is easily ruined. By saying this parable, He invites us not just saying Lord, Lord every time, but also having commitment in our heart to realize our prayer in our action.

We know that even a house is built with perfect and strong materials, meticulous design and work, but it’s built on a weak foundation, then it may be easy to fall apart. This house is our life. How we build our life depend on us. We decide! Here we can ask ourselves: “What’s the foundation of my life?”
